Ever wonder why popcorn pops at different rates? It's because each kernel
contains water. As the kernel heats up, the water begins to expand. Since
different kernels have different amounts of water, they pop at different rates.


In the song "Uh, Zoom Zip" by Soul Coughing, the band sings of the new millennium and flan: "Movin' up to the double 'm' / Two thousand / I eat up a decade like a flan."
