LETTER FROM THE EDITOR:
emember going to one of those art theatres in the dead
of night to catch films such as "El Topo", "Texas
Chainsaw Massacre", "Carnival of Souls", "Freaks",
or some Herschel Gordon Lewis film festival? (We're not even mentioning
the obvious example here--sorry Frankenfurter fans.) Well, the
studios are going after the Midnight Movie market with a vengence
and you can get the story here.
Don't miss the interview with Chris Eyre, the Cheyenne/Arapaho
film maker on his new film, "Smoke Signals". The film
got raves at Sundance and you can get Eyre's story here--not to
mention a review of the movie.
Did someone mention reviews? We've got a bunch including everything you
ever (thought) you needed to know about the mega- ganga- monstro- giganto summer blockbuster, "Armageddon." Check out the pieces on "Men With Guns," "Cousin Bette," "High Art," and more.
