Get On the Bus

Weekly Alibi

DIRECTED BY: Spike Lee

REVIEWED: 10-16-96

I guess director Spike Lee should be admired for pulling off this fiercely uncommercial and largely uncinematic film. A group of African-American men from South Central L.A. get on a bus and drive across country to last year's Million Man March in Washington D.C. Acting is all rock solid, but if you're looking for a story, don't bother getting on this particular bus. Movie consists almost entirely of the men sitting around and debating various issues within the black community.
